Look at the thought, not only the feeling

Dr. Dey uses Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy. That means we look at the beliefs that turn a hard day into a spiral, and we practice a response you can use when the worry shows up again. This is scheduled counselling, not a crisis line. If you need urgent help, contact a local helpline.

Sleep, pressure, and the week between sessions

Anxiety often shows up as poor sleep, a short temper, or a mind that will not switch off after work. Each session includes a week of hand holding, so you are not left alone with a new idea and no way to try it.

Questions people ask

What do we actually do in a session?
You describe what the week has been like. We pick one pattern, usually a thought that makes the worry louder, and work out what to try before we meet again.
Do I need a diagnosis first?
No. You can come because stress or worry is getting in the way, even if nobody has given it a name.
Will I be given something to do between meetings?
Yes. The point of the work is a tool you can use on an ordinary day, not only while we are talking.
